Wolf Point Ranch hosts an equine facility that is second to none in the area south of Houston. With over fifty stalls that are complete with automatic watering systems, cedar fiber shavings, fly control system and number over fifty. Our staff is at the facility seven days a week and twenty-four hours a day. Special mare care is available in our foaling barn with turnouts to help foals begin their life in the most natural way possible. In addition to the stalls the ranch has turnouts on one hundred acres for horses that do not need stall space.

The breeding facility is under the tutelage of a local vet with a breeding manager on hand. In addition to the vast amount of stall space the training facility is unrivaled. With a full size indoor arena the training continues each day regardless of the weather, a remote control covered training pen is also available for working the horses to track cows, when a more intense training session is called for the acre big outdoor work ring with cattle chutes is a trainers dream. The training facilities are rounded out with another, smaller, outdoor work ring.

What can I say, if you have seen one black cow you have seen them all. In our case it is very true as our cattle manager, Brandon Critendon, is up on the latest in genetics and keeps a strict breeding program. Which is why we consistantly have healthy strong blood-lines.

Wolf Point Brangus roam large areas of coastal Texas in a natural environment. Thanks to the supervision our brangus are given; they are very docile and live in a low stress atmosphere. This directly affects the over-all health and quality of our cattle.

Tree Farm

One of the most fantastic natural pleasures in Texas is the Live Oak Tree with all of it's glory and history. The tree is a shallow root tree with the roots extending beyond the natural canopy of the tree seeking water. With a single root system there will be several trees growing which then produces a sizeable motte as they grow. Although not a particularly tall tree the branches will reach out quite a distance and some even sweep the ground under the massive weight.

Wolf Point has a large selection of Live Oaks available for purchase. Grown in containers and then reset to metal baskets the oaks have a high success rate when transplanted due to the special care they receive while being grown at the ranch. Also available are transplanting services with our large 60" tree spade or one of the smaller spades. With the amount of the root ball that is preserved our Oak trees are found in some of the local ranches and housing developments.
